Q: ‘Breathe’ is such a powerful song. Can you tell us what ‘Breathe’ means to you?
AIRYEN: Breathe is the first song in which I feel like I have finally found my voice. It`s entirely made how I wanted to and it shows the vision I had at the time.
Q: What was the experience of filming the ‘Breathe’ music video like?
AIRYEN: It was absolutely beautiful. I have been very blessed to collaborate with so many talented people. From actors to a great production team, they somehow managed to put everything together in such a short period of time. I collaborate with the very talented director Barna Nemethi who understood my vision exactly. For anyone else my idea seemed very weird at the begging.
Q: What first inspired you to write ‘Breathe’?
AIRYEN: There was a while when I took the time to observe what was happening around me, to study people and their behaviors. I was amazed by how little we are standing up for ourselves everyday, and how much this can affect our mental health and our happiness. “Breathe” was a feeling that I had at the moment when I first wrote the chorus. It has nothing to do with the pandemic, It`s about going through everyday tasks, and how hard this might be for some of us. Just wanted to give people a little courage.
Q: How do you feel growing up in Romania has influenced your music and who you are today?
AIRYEN: I feel like it definitely helped me knowing exactly what I want to do with my life. All the experiences I had there good or bad, made me the person I have become today. Maybe I don’t think that I would be so driven today if I wasn’t growing up in Romania.
Q: What is the music scene like in Los Angeles?
AIRYEN: Since I was little, my mother used to play me music from the biggest artist of the world. She introduced me to Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Marvin Gaye and so many others that left a mark on the music scene. Being in Los Angeles helps to expand my vision and it gives me the chance to work with the best people from the industry . The music scene in Los Angeles really shaped my musical style and determined me to worked harder to achieve my dreams. It is not as easy as it looks, but in the same time I really love it.
Q: Your song ‘Breathe’ is very inspiring. Are there any other words you’d like to say to all your supporters out there?
AIRYEN: It`s going to sound like a cliché, but it really isn’t. Just do whatever makes you happy and believe in yourself.
