The journey to living one’s life completely and fully authentic can be a hard one and is something that majority of us struggle with throughout the course of our lives. It can be hard to articulate ones true feelings into words, but KLEE captures this message perfectly through her new song, “Alien.”
The track starts out with a rhythmic background, paired with KLEE professing the awkwardness that she sometimes feels in certain social situations. She references feeling like an alien compared to others around. Throughout the beginning of “Alien,” we see her question where these feelings of insecurity come from, accompanied by a modern yet futuristic melody.
The track navigates the aching we feel for those that we miss, those that would be able to make us feel as normal and “human” as possible. KLEE articulates how that sense of feeling out of place could all be wiped away if that one special person were there. The feeling of missing someone can be crushing at times, and KLEE encapsulates these hopeless thoughts in the track, “Alien.”
KLEE expresses how she feels insane for having these thoughts of doubt, constantly comparing oneself to others. This is a common theme that we see amongst humanity daily; we always feel the need to find assurance in the way that others make us feel. The track is able to address these emotions, communicating how at times its difficult to live an authentic, individual life. “Alien” is able to fully circumnavigates that sense of isolation and dependency on others that we all often feel at times.
