Way Far Back /// Wave 21

The release of Wave 21’s, “Way Far Back”, took place on January 28, 2022. Mary-Lynn Doroshuck, Stefan Doroshuck, and John Henry Macomber IV performed as vocalists; string instruments were represented by an acoustic guitar (Mary-Lynn Doroshuck), bass (Stefan Doroshuck), and lead guitar (Alex Crowe); Michel Paradis played the drums and John Henry Macomber IV played keys.

Formed in Canada, Wave 21 was founded in the 1970s by Stefan Doroshuck and his two brothers. However, Wave 21 is not only just a music band. The Montrealer claimed that Wave 21 was “the predecessor to Men Without Hats.” In 2018, the band released a self-titled album, “Wave 21.” Three years later in 2021, the band released another album, “Brace Yourself.” Wave 21 has been able to provide tracks that make their audience dance and have a great time.

The melodies, on the other hand, were not the only noteworthy aspects of “Way Far Back.” This track is tuneful and catchy. Mary-Lynn, Stefan, and John have clear and impressive vocal tones as they put real feelings into the lyrics. The lyrics were clever and amusing with some punchy phrases. There have been wonderful sounds as well coming from the acoustic guitar, drums, bass, lead guitar, and the keys. The performance quality was high throughout, both vocally and instrumentally. Overall, this track is well-shaped and melodic, and I think it has strong potential to make its way to the top of the charts. With their lyrical charms, nothing can stop this band from putting on a wonderful show.
