Everyone goes through rough times in their life. What we choose to do to get back up after we fall, though, can show strength of character. This is often easier said than done, and we all can be there to help others get back up with a little bit of extra help and support. Wotts’ new track ‘Domino,’ speaks to moments of weakness that we often go through throughout the course of life.

Based out of Ottawa, Canada, Wotts is comprised of vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Jayem and bassist/guitarist Ricky 100. Together, the duo has embarked on a new journey specifically in the sphere of indie pop music. Wotts loves experimenting with new sounds and production elements, as Ricky 100 states, “I think we’re having a lot of fun with exploring new sounds and really trying to build an atmosphere with our music.”

Their new track ‘Domino’ was written and produced by Jayem, and centers around the idea of someone who continues to return to old, destructive patterns. These patterns tend to bring them down, falling down repeatedly like that of a domino. Jayem makes sure to note that the song was not generated to criticize anyone going through a challenging period, rather to shine light on the trends that may attribute extra stress during these difficult times. Jayem states their inspiration for the piece, while stating, “when I was writing it, I kept thinking of this one person in my life who can’t get out of their own way, who’s always falling into bad patterns.”

Domino’ sports futuristic production patterns blended with high-energy vibes. Though the song speaks to reoccurring negative patterns, the musical components of the song could not be more opposite. The track creates an uplifting, positive vibe to it that is magnetizing. Building an 80s reminiscent vibe, ‘Domino’ consists of rock/indie/pop vibes that make it a perfect song to jam to in the car, on your way to work or even just when you need a few minutes of enthusiasm.

The tough topic that encompasses the song almost serves as an inspiration point for the viewer. Though it can be easy to get engulfed in old, negative patterns, ‘Domino’ allows the audience to recognize this, and hope to do better. We understand that the cards are going to fall where they may, and we can only choose our reactions and how we plan to move forward. I mean, who wouldn’t feel inspired by the upbeat, impeccable vibes that are showcased through the rhythm of this song? Take a listen and you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about.
