Paper Tigers /// The Infinite Daisy Chains

The Infinite Daisy Chains are a product of a love formed with the intention to spread hope. Literally, the duo consisting of Ian Dandridge and Kristina Westernik-Dandridge are a married couple who met in a dimly lit garage and are now emitting a bright halo onto the world with the creative fusion of Bedroom Pop and Neo Psychedelia.

“Paper Tigers” is a very clean and pretty tune consisting of creative sound design reminiscent of Röyksopp and other memorable duos who combined electronic music with live instrumentation.  With washed over vocals angelically performed by Kristina, her delivery provides a tasteful ambiguity to the comprehension of her lyrics. The track lays a nice groove with a well mixed drum and bass section sitting underneath Ian’s guitar sections. It is this blend of musical tones that makes “Paper Tigers” stand out. The guitar tracks provide an emotional edge to the dreamy synthesized timbre, making the sonics feel like a match made in heaven. No, it’s not shocking to assume this duo has good chemistry and it’s beautiful to hear it through their music.

The outro of the song is emotive and quite cathartic, inviting the listener into the duo’s realm of delicate other worldly walls of sound. “Paper Tigers” is a versatile track that can appeal to many fan bases. From Flaming Lips to the early part of this century’s great indie-electronic artists that came from Europe, The Infinite Daisy Chains have created a refreshing nostalgia for those awesome tunes we’d discover on Pandora during the early streaming years.

This is a great song with a well crafted song structure and I can’t wait to hear what else they have in store. To love and hope. To The Infinite Daisy Chains.
