Eosin is the musical project by Humphrey Bacchus who went on a 15 year hiatus of making music. “After the Silence” seems like an appropriate track title whether it’s intentional in relation to his return. The realm of sound he has created with this release will surely trigger feelings through its synth layering and touching harmonies.
“After the Silence” is a beautiful electronic tune combining techno, ambient, and a touch of IDM that will escape you into Eosin’s world of emotive energy that patiently progresses and rewards you for it. The percussion and bass is elegant and humble, allowing space for the mids and high ends to captivate you. The reflective keys and the heartful synth pads tell a story that requires no lead vocalist to execute. You’re on a cinematic ride and Eosin is a well skilled pilot to lead the trail.
This song will hit a spot for people who play music with not much lights on, like to go to sleep to music, or like multitasking music. It’s easy to find comfort in the gentle dynamics that pulsate in and out, creating a little tension but never unease. The mix is well done and the entire sound spectrum is clear and present. Although it runs at just over six minutes, it’s easy to feel like the song was around four by the end of it, never overstaying its welcome or sounding redundant.
Overall, Eosin’s “After the Silence” is instrumental music at its apex of allowing voiceless music to create feelings. It’s great medicine for what’s on your mind, but as all instrumental music is subjective, you can create the story to this cinematic experience yourself.
