The release of Toronto-based R&B singer-songwriter, Meagan De Lima’s, track, “Queen,” took place on 6 May 2022. This track follows her previous release that was able to be shown off to the public in the summer of 2021 titled “Show You.”
“Queen” starts off rather groove-like with a hint of jazz and R&B mixed together, Meagan providing beautifully sung vocals that are able to make the track itself pave the way for what is bound to come. This track, however, is what really paves the way for the queens that we are bound to cross paths with one way or another as they provide a great example for all of us to see in hopes of what is to come as we look to them for guidance, love, and comfort as the decent beat it brings well-deserved energy for all to hear.
This well-sung release follows that of Meagan’s mother, who has become a fearless leader in so many ways due to the challenges that she had to face. Having to have expressed love and gratitude for the woman who has been described not only as a mother but as a best friend and role model, Meagan has been able to provide such a strong, earthly tone with this release as well as providing a voice of reason as to why all mothers and other women in the lives of those around the world should be recognized for their hard work and dedication for the life that they have been able to provide for their children or those they have been taking care of, making them the queens that they deserve to be just in time for Mother’s Day.
