Artist Interview: “Oxygen Type ” by The Lunar Keys

Q: “Oxygen Type” has such an electrifying feeling from start to finish! Can you walk me through the creative process in making this track?

The Lunar Keys: The melody and the words for the verse came to us in the car driving to a Gig and we were shouting the guitar riff. We recorded that a phone and built the song from there – so the energy was there from the start.

Q: “Oxygen Type” is the first time you all came together as a band to record in the Big London Studio. Did playing together bring a whole different type of energy to the track?

The Lunar Keys: Its what we were missing . Rehearsals were kicking and demo’s were sounding sweet but all playing together in the studio is where the magic happened and no one can really explain its how we roll.

Q:
In your own words, how would you describe the music that you typically create?

The Lunar Keys: It kind of Anxiety on Cruise control. Psychological outpourings lamenting and celebrating life with Tight. Melodies crashing guitars and souring synths. Rock for the 2020’s

Q: I can feel the undeniable chemistry and energy that you all bring together as a band when you perform together. What did you enjoy most about making “Oxygen Type”?

The Lunar Keys: The final Master being delivered.. Ha no.. The best thing was the version we used was the first take in the studio which we thought was a warm up we just went for it.

Q: What do you hope listeners take from listening to “Oxygen Type”? I know for a fact it put me in a good mood!

The Lunar Keys: The feeling you get to impulsively launch into the night, on a high, bursting with total excitement at living every breath of a prospective night out to the maximum. Experiencing the little disturbia that chimes with i.

Q: What has been one of the highlights of your music career so far?

The Lunar Keys: Playing the festivals and Gigs in 2022 – Yes Live is where its at –

Q: What’s next for you guys?

The Lunar Keys: More Releases – More Gigs – More Exposure we are coming for ya – So Breathe in Breathe Out
