Yo Yo Sun – Other Life

Soul-filled, dreamy, dynamic, introspective; these are all good words to describe “Other Life” by Yo Yo Sun. This is such a powerful and well-crafted release that blends both softness and power. The vocals are produced softly, but it plays into the dreaminess. The guitar lines are captivating. The mix builds an astounding fullness in the sound as if it resounds around the listener, and it fits into the stereo in a captivating way. The lyrics are repetitive, but it’s done in the right way. “In another life, please come back to me,” it resounds, as it explores the want to keep connection with others alive.

Dj Remo Ft. Max Farenthide and Vera Noir – Find My Way

“Find My Way” brings the party straight to the ears. The dancey beat is reminiscent of the early 2000s. Overall, the synthy instrumentation hits the right beats and drops, and there’s a lot of resonance in the production overall. Vocally, the filtering makes things have a bit of a nightcore vibe which works well with the EDM basis. The lyrics in this track explore a race towards finding and falling into deep love with stark determination.

Michellar – I can’t drive away

“I can’t drive away,” has a synthy indie sound with a lot of soul and smoothness. The vocals hit the smooth tones, the bass gives a nice slap, and the percussion controls the pacing well. Additionally, the dynamic mix of the guitar lines stands out, as they seem to spin around the foreground and background of the track. Lyrically, this release is picturesque. It explores the feelings of not being able to leave without needing a kiss from a loved one. “I can’t drive away without that kiss / I can’t walk away from you without those lips,” the chorus resounds.

Jake Marshall – Next Time

“Next Time” has a funky indie pop sound with psychedelic influences. It has some experimentation and unique synths, and it’s dynamic from front to back. This track builds an experience to be had through the way it evolves over time. Additionally, the vocal filtering helps them pop while also fitting into the electronic sounds of the instrumentation. The bridge stands out tons as the stereo is used in a way that allows the vocals to move around the space slowly while different synth elements are introduced and pulled away. It builds well for a powerful vocal hit. The lyrics explore reflection, wanting to find a former self, and wanting to be better for another through healing and self-work.
