‘Burnt Out’ blends extremely unique vocals that transition and bend with ease and a ballad-like piano and guitar-driven instrumentation. It works with just a bit of dissonance at times to add intrigue, and the different synth sounds that are introduced at different times add a lot of atmosphere. The vocals, though, take the stage over everything else, as they have an overarching softness but work well with powerful belts. The lyrics are poignant and tell a story of yearning and disconnection with great poetic imagery. That being said, it also captures a tale of a love fizzling out, even though that want is there.
