This week, there have been some astounding releases. Today, April 2, 2026, morato released their new single ‘i’m yours,’ which tackles the idea of falling in love. On March 31, Fulton Calvery released the single ‘Rip My Heart Out’. This track tackles the idea of finding strength in heartbreak. The next single included is an exploration of physical affection, and the last inclusion is a more instrumental track that builds a sense of reflection. When put together, this all tackles the idea of the human condition through connections.
morato – i’m yours
‘i’m yours’ is an absolutely gorgeous acoustic track with a focus on emotional vocals and storytelling. It has a folk pop vibe with soft and sweet undertones for listeners who are looking for a heartfelt experience. It’s about falling in love, but the way in which the narrator is falling in love feels like something fresh and new. The soft vocals and harmonies capture such real emotion, and there’s a mix of acoustic and electronic and acoustic influences, all interconnected with a growth into a strong fullness. This is an amazing new release, and it deserves one or many listeners. Just say the word, and this track could be yours.
Fulton Calvery – Rip My Heart Out (feat. Alexandra Keller)
Where ‘i’m yours’ creates a soft take on falling in love, ‘Rip My Heart Out’ offers up an energetic exploration of heartbreak. The full band sound lets the guitars take the lead with their full mesh of fingerpicking and chords, and the vocals follow suit with just as much strength. The chorus uses repetition that makes it easy to belt along to while also adding an addictive quality. Additionally, the instrumentals have some astounding guitar leads. This track gives just as much of a spotlight to the instrumentation as it does to the vocals without sacrificing a phenomenal vocal performance. Lyrically, it seems to tackle a strength and familiarity with heartbreak, where the narrator moves forward with strength.
Athena Maria – Syrup
‘Syrup’ has a groove straight from the 80s with its slappy and synthy instrumentation mixed with an anthemic vocal. The bounce in this track is amazing, and the aforementioned slap that can be heard in the bass and guitars gives a punchy energy. This track has an amazing drive forward and would be good as a workout or high-energy anthem. This rush forward is astounding, and the melody and harmony work together with rises and falls that keep every twist and turn exciting. The lyrics in the chorus go, “won’t you pour some syrup on me… syrup’s got a chokehold on me. This is reminiscent of Def Leppard, and it builds into a narrative of an addiction to one’s love and physical affection.
Dr. GO – Singing Waves
‘Singing Waves’ brings things in a different direction. It captures a bit of the retro-futurism that Dr. Go brings to the table, but it uses natural piano and guitar sounds to bring things to life. Though there’s an aspect that makes it seem like it’s from a futuristic video game, it also dashes some humanness to it. There are also vocalizations that build into a really pretty melody. This track is really pretty, it has a laid-back energy that builds over time without rushing itself. Though, it has enough energy dashed in to keep listeners after it hooks them.
