Myah, an artist based in Los Angeles, released her latest single titled lightning on the 4th day of December. This incredible tune was able to follow in the footsteps of her previous release called the lobby.
Produced by Noah Bryer, lightning’s introduction was smooth and compelling. Myah has a warm and impressive vocal tone, as she can pour her hard work and efforts into the lyrics. The lyrics are meaningful and expressive, with its clever phrases. Instrumentally, lightning has an atmospheric accompaniment that complements the vocal track perfectly; any instruments involved have made this release creative and original. As the track progresses, Myah can give her intended audience a story to tell.
Speaking of lightning, Myah shared that she’s “been going through a pretty rough breakup, and I just wanted to write a song that was about falling in love because I haven’t felt that feeling in a while.” As for what has influenced this track, Myah shared how “there’s this Pixar short called “The Blue Umbrella”, and for some reason, the visual of that song always came into my head when I wrote this, as well as the film “Crazy Stupid Love” and the dancing scene in the “Titanic” where Rose and Jack are together doing the polka.”
If you’re looking for an artist who can hold the power of storytelling through their songs, Myah is your go-to artist. Lightning seems like a real promise as the release’s lyrics can share a story that may speak to others in ways that make them relate to the song. The performance quality, both vocally and instrumentally, was high throughout; the single is melodic overall as Myah continues to share her amazing talent with the world.
