There is a new single by artist Michael Ransom titled, “Put It All On Red.” It is available on streaming services, as well as his previous single, “Good News Comes In Threes.”
This track’s instrumentation includes electric guitars and vocals at the forefront. The melody is catchy, and soothes the listener. The audience for the song is for anyone who has people in their life that they care about, since the song does touch on the topic of love.
The vocals sound dreamlike, with effects in post production added on to give a distorted feeling. “I’ll take the risk, for a love like this” the chorus sings. The singer is struggling with what to do for his love, but he decides that anything is worth his “Juliet.”
The drum and bass help set the mood for this laid back jam, with the chord harmonies of the guitar complimenting the vocals. The song structure is fairly standard, alternating from verse to chorus. There are no solo or instrumental sections, but every good song doesn’t need a solo.
Michael Ransom’s voice has a range, going from low to medium high notes. He definitely draws upon Alternative and Blues songwriting techniques, even if those are not the main sound of this song. It sounds kinda sad, while at the same time uplifting the listener to hear what the words are actually saying. Yet, the song is enjoyable and would recommend for listeners to check out.
Ransom has an upcoming show at The Moustache Bar in London, UK, on November 4th.
