Time to get those yawns out of the way. Rouge’s release of their track, “Heartbreak is a Bore,” has made its arrival on the heartbreak express, expressing things that you might not have thought of before. Let’s not wait in line anymore as we take a closer look at the single that is destined to make one want to jam out.
Based in the heart of Australia’s capital of Sydney, Rouge is not just your typical teenage duo that is able to experience their possible fair share of heartbreaks. According to sinusoidalmusic.com, the lyrics to the song are very relatable in so many ways as they could bring possible healing to someone experiencing the same, if not similar, emotions. On the other hand, this Australian duo has started their journey in the music world as their debut EP provides a detailed synopsis of how talented these ladies are (sinusoidalmusic.com).
“Heartbreak is a Bore” is able to fall under rouge’s respected genre of indie-pop. They were, however, able to influence genres such as indie, dream pop, alt-rock pop, rock pop, and pop.
This release has definitely become an amazing tune to listen to. In many ways, the melody is catchy and interesting. These talented singers were able to provide a warm vocal tone as they were able to put a lot of expression into the lyrics. The lyrics, however, were able to become meaningful with some deep phrases such as “You should go ‘cause you know you’re just so cynical” and “‘Cause you don’t excite me anymore.” Instrumentally, “Heartbreak is a Bore” is able to provide a smooth accompaniment that is able to complement the vocal track perfectly like a puzzle piece. Overall, the song is original and melodic, and I think it has a strong potential of reaching high in the charts one day with its relatable traits.
