Just a Little Bit Longer /// Monroe Moon

“Just a Little Bit Longer” is a new single by alternative artist Monroe Moon. The chill vocals and chords create a reflective atmosphere for the listener. Hope is not always constant, but holding onto it can be the required strength when facing big issues, which this song touches on.

Inspired by 80s and 90s Alternative and Electronic artists such as Portishead and Massive Attack, their style is a mix between rock and soul. “You don’t even know, that I know, that I know, that I’m right. You don’t even know, no no,” she sings to open the song. The guitar sets the tone for the track, with the drums and vocals creating a catchy blend of sound.

This song is well written and well produced, with the performances on the track shining as well. “My body will remain, just a little bit longer, you’re not strong enough,” she sings during the chorus. There is a sense of desperation in the vocals on this track, which adds emotional weight to the song. “You’re not my home anymore,” she sings to conclude the chorus. The guitar solo near the beginning of the second half of the song is extremely expressive and captures the emotion of the lyrics perfectly.

Monroe Moon is a two person operation. Theo Malkin is on guitar and finances. Bunny Monroe is on vocals, keys and orphism. The two of them met after Bunny complimented a stranger’s scarf. They are currently working on their full length album, set to be released in 2023.
