It’s Not Love /// Aggressive Soccer Moms

Take a time machine back to the 80s with Lo-fi post-punk group Aggressive Soccer Moms’ latest track, “It’s Not Love.” Fans of old-school synth-pop and darkwave bands such as The Cure and The Smiths won’t get enough of this unique, captivating track. Hypnotizing instrumental, ominous guitars, compelling vocals about love and loss, and a dark-toned atmosphere make “It’s Not Love” the ultimate song for those lonely nights.

Aggressive Soccer Moms is the project behind duo Anders Bergström and Thomas Wahlström from Stockholm, Sweden. The two have been creating music together for four years now and are celebrating their upcoming 6th album, “All You Need,” with the preceding single, “It’s Not Love.” “It’s Not Love” gives a glimpse into the gloomy yet mesmerizing atmosphere that “All You Need” will encapsulate, as the duo claims it will be their most dramatic, dark-toned album to date.

Upon the very opening notes, “It’s Not Love” gives off a nostalgic feeling with its 80s-inspired instrumental and Bergström’s truly alluring voice. In his almost cry-like vocals, Bergström sings the heartbreaking words, “I thought you were someone else,” a universal feeling of realizing the love you thought you had was utterly false. One can hear the pain in Bergström’s voice, which truly connects the listener with the song. Along with the vocals, the bleak atmosphere that Aggressive Soccer Moms create within “It’s Not Love” puts the listener into their world.

Aggressive Soccer Moms’ upcoming 6th album “All You Need” is set to release on May 26th, 2022. “It’s Not Love” is available now on all music streaming platforms.
