How Would It Feel To Know The Truth /// Indigo Daydream

In his previous installment, “Life Might Not Be Real,” Nick Cheshire of Indigo Daydream planted the seed for questioning reality. As it turns out, it was merely a primer for the coming sequel, “How Would It Feel To Know The Truth.” This time around, the listener follows Cheshire deep down a spiraling vortex of sound on a quest to answer more of life’s riddles.

For Cheshire’s inspiration, look no further than this single’s cover art. Featuring a white rabbit and a red pill falling into an endless void, the artist is steeped in the mind bending worlds of The Matrix and Alice In Wonderland. In lieu of any psychotropic assistance, an open mind and ears are all you will need to grasp Cheshire’s philosophy.

For Cheshire, life appears to be a code that is in need of cracking. The listener is clued in by a vintage radio advertisement for a decoder badge. This sample’s meaning can be viewed as a subtle jab at subliminal messaging in advertising. In reality, we’re all subject to it and don’t think to question it. However, in the realm of this tune, you are free to question everything.

A drifting, hypnotic melody and feathery vocals combine to form a singular induction method. Naturally, Cheshire conjures up a mystery vortex, sending the listener into a slow motion, free fall. All of this happens with remarkable ease, allowing you to let all of your mental defenses down.

“How Would It Feel To Know The Truth” washes over you with a sublime warmth. If you feel the chill of reality when pondering universal questions, this song will usher it aside for a few minutes.
